Damn, I wish I was one of the people that got free awards so I could reward this.

Edit: Thank you for the award, kind Redditor! 🥰

Guess they were out of Snowtrooper gear.

They could have just worn their KKK robes and blended in better.

Definitely military surplus. This style uniform hasn't been issued for at least 15 years. They were called desert BDU'S. I'm kind of wondering what the patches on his left arm say.

Not BDUs. And not desert. It looks like OCP camo, which replaced Multicam and that digital bullshit most people were wearing 15 years ago. You can tell by the gradients of green and brown.

It's not like standard military issue either. That light shell jacket and that built in kneepad on the left are more tacticool bullshit, not just castoff military stuff from a couple decades ago. Also note the black camo plate holder. It's very hodgepodge and frankly reads more like an airsoft outfit than a uniform to me, but who knows, I'm not in that world anymore.

They are slightly more uniform than they were before, but there's clearly no uniform standard at play here.

Either these guys are overfunded and getting issued this stuff bought off of the open economy, or they are spending money to play dress up, but either way they're not just wearing army surplus.

OK, obviously I served before this stuff came to be issued. I was medically retired when the digital stuff was replacing everything.

Still seems ridiculous for these situations.
