SUB META Heads up. We've been experiencing some of the most aggressive brigading the sub has ever seen and have just deployed Crowd Control to crack down on it.
You've probably noticed all the righties, many of them with auto-generated names, spamming the absolute shit out of the sub trying to manipulate the narrative around recent events. This happened both during Maduro's kidnapping and it has been happening today targeting the posts about the murder of Renee Good.
I watched some of these people ban evade in real time like ghouls rising from the dead, dodging Reddit's filters and going right back to bothering people pretty much immediately. They are aggressive and they clearly have a lot of experience working around Reddit's security features. I couldn't even leave the computer for 5 minutes without a dozen new reports rolling in. The Reddit admins literally contacted us out of concern for how much rule breaking behavior was going on. I spent like 5 hours just trying to keep up with the mod queue. Thank you to everyone who helped identify AI photos being shared, and everyone who reported these people.
But uh, I need sleep. And they will quickly overwhelm the sub if I do. So, I've made the reluctant decision to enable Crowd Control filters, at least temporarily. This may result in some false positives. If you see your comment getting filtered and you don't know why, that's probably it. And I apologize for that. But I hope this will be considerably better than the alternative.

BAN APPEALS - PLEASE READ
TL;DR - BAN/REMOVAL APPEALS MUST DIRECTLY ADDRESS THE ISSUE. Asking questions like "Why was I banned", "what rule did I break", or "Enjoy your safe space lol" WILL result in being muted/ignored/banned harder.
This sub is gaining popularity - nearly TWO MILLION hits a week as of this posting. This has made us a bright, shining target for malicious right-wing actors. We are committed to keeping this an appealing space for reasonable discussion by honest users.
Mods are getting hundreds of messages a week from users who were banned for clear rules violations, who then waste our time with asinine questions or taunts or what have you.
We want to be able to address ban/removal appeals when they come in good faith. Due to the high number of obviously bad faith messages, we are instituting a new policy. Appeals to moderators must immediately and directly address the issue at hand, and state why your post deserves a second look. Any other messages regarding removals will be summarily ignored and your account will be muted. Further attempts to waste our time will be reported as abuse to Reddit.
Thank you for understanding, and please keep reporting bad actors. We count on your help to keep the waters clear and the turds out of the pool.

This image will defined the Trump administration for decades to come
This photo will define the Trump administration for decades to come and will go down as one of the most embarrassing presidential photo in history
A photo taken in the Oval Office while a man appears to pass out is going viral because of the reaction ā or lack thereof ā of President Donald Trump.
During an announcement at the White House about lowering the cost of weight-loss drugs, an unidentified man collapsed.
Dr. Mehmet Oz jumped to the manās aid, while Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., hopped out of the way.
Video of the incident shows Trump turning towards the man and watching him receive care before turning away and standing with his arms at his sides looking annoyed at how this man was taking the attention away from him.
Now imagine how much he cares about you.

Jonathan Ross...
...may be well advised to understand there is no statute of limitations for the crimes he committed. Further, despite federal officials packing up all evidence from his residence presumably to destroy it, the video evidence and eye witness testimony will be enough to convict him. His gangland protection from the current administration has an expiration date shorter than his lifespan. Over the long course of time, he may ultimately realize who the fucking bitch is.

Has anyone else noticed that since large-scale ICE raids began, right-wing groups like the Proud Boys and Three Percenters seem to have vanished? Funny how that worksāalmost like theyāre the same peopleā¦ š§š¤

Discussion Stephen Colbert on the ICE murder of Renee Nicole Good: āThe message from this administration is clear. Only they determine the truth. And when their forces come to your city: obey or die. And if you die, you clearly didnāt obey. This should be an alarm bell for the entire country.ā

Discussion I voted for Trump Twice (Not a Bad Faith Post)
I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020.
I (37m) was raised in rural North Carolina, a Marine Corps brat and Apocalyptic Pentecostal on my fatherās side, straight Southern Baptist on my motherās side.
I was raised on God, Guns, and Country. I grew up listening to Rush Limbaugh and hearing my family talk about āthe colored folkā at the dinner table. I got the ābluebirds go with the bluebirdsā talk more than I can remember.
Things slowly started to unravel in 2006 when I married an Afro-Latina woman. (Yes I married young, at 17, yes we are still together and are about to have our 20th anniversary).
My family almost immediately began with the racist jokes. Within two months we had moved away from my family in NC to her family in NYC. It started to become obvious I didnāt mesh well with them anymore.
But of course, all that brainwashing took a long time to wear offā¦
In 2008, my first election, I voted for John McCain.
In 2012, I voted for Obama. Mitt Romney pissed me off.
Then in 2016 and 2020. I voted for Trump. Itās interesting because when Trump first announced his candidacy, I was against him. I kept remembering back to the days of him being on the WWE with the Great Khali and Vince McMahon getting his head shaved and I wondered how anyone could take him seriously.
I was, and do, remain largely Pro Life, that was a big reason why I decided to vote for him.
In 2018, I was a newly hired Federal worker, and not even six months in we had the bullshit shutdown over the wall. I started to be irritated by Trumpās bullshit then, but Covid happened, and I wasnāt sure if it was right to change Presidents in the middle of a pandemicā¦again with my Pro Life beliefs as well.
Then on January 6, 2021, it all came tumbling down. I remember getting the breaking news alerts, and I actually felt afraid āThis will go nowhere good..ā
The attempted coup was my first..big breakā¦my first time seeing reality.
A month or so later I was able to get the Covid shot, being a Federal employee we were allowed to go first.
After I got it, my wife got it, then her family followed.
Being in NYC during the whole pandemic I saw how bad it got here, the refrigerator trucks, etc. So it pissed me off when I would see conservative news outlets calling the whole thing a scam, a cold, railing against masks, and then vaccines.
I have always detested anti vaxxers, and as more and more people refused to get the Covid shot, I really began to wonder. āIf they (Conservatives) are so wrong about this, what else are they wrong about?
I joined some Leftist FB groups to just see what the other side was doing and saying. I asked for some literature to be pointed to. I always enjoyed reading.
The very first book I was pointed to, I read āThe Peopleās History of the United Statesā blew the lid off of everything I thought I had knownā¦..I began to see the lies as systematicā¦.
I opened up more, I started reading Marx, Lenin, Sankara, Minhā¦Angela Davisā¦
I was introduced to Noam Chomsky and Michael Parenti, and my viewpoints were shattered, and evolved.
Last election, I voted for Kamala, and while I will always be ashamed of my first two votes for Trump, I just want to say people can changeā¦and to pleaseā¦give those asking questions the benefit of the doubt as the blinders start to come off their eyesā¦.the propaganda in this country is insidiousā¦education is costly, and unless there is an eye opening event that makes people question, or it affects them directly, they may always be stuck in the same beliefs they were raised inā¦.
Thanks for reading.
Edited to add that I very happily voted for Mamdani, and was stoked that he won.

There aren't two sides. There are people who know this was a murder, and those who are happy about it.

Trump on Greenland: If we do not do it the easy way, we will do it the hard way. By the way, I am a fan of Denmark. The fact they had a boat land there 500 years ago does not mean they own the land. We will be doing something with Greenlandāthe nice way, or the more difficult way
